Our Mission

In the fall of 2015, while volunteering at our local homeless shelter, my children and I witnessed something that we could not forget or ignore. We saw a line of people visiting the shelter, including young children, waiting with outstretched hands to receive a single pump of shampoo and men waiting for a single dab of shaving cream from large bulk bottles. We could only imagine how demoralizing this must have been for those people and we could not help but feel that they were being stripped of their dignity. When my son questioned the shelter manager, he was told the shelter could not always afford to distribute single-use bottles of personal care products and they were doing as much as their budgets or donations would allow. After witnessing this, my kids were emotional about the situation and we discussed what we could do. Alex said, “Dad, you travel all the time for your work and I know you sometimes bring home small bottles of shampoo, conditioner and soap from your hotel stays. Would you be willing to collect these items instead of using them and bring them home to donate to the shelter?” Since then, I have saved hundreds of bottles on my numerous travels and donated them to our local shelter. Now we ask you to do the same and be a Road Warrior Guardian for your community. We are asking frequent travelers to join the Road Warrior Guardian family. Make the commitment and we will add you to the roster of Road Warrior Guardian family members around the country and someday, around the world! Together we can be guardians of our communities!
